Electrum Announces Interactive Web SitesEDINBURGH - Dec 20, 1996
Electrum Multimedia recently announced a new programming service to provide interactive maps and applications for the World Wide Web using Java, the language that has recently taken the Internet by storm.
Gary McGill of Electrum said: "Java web sites are more interactive and engaging. They retain the user's interest and they gather information on user interests, feedback and comments, which can be invaluable for market research. The advantages of Java are particularly relevant to web sites targeted at a younger audience, as youngsters are more familiar with computers, multimedia kiosks and interactive media and expect web sites to be engaging and visually interactive. Our research shows that youngsters stay longer on interactive web sites and return to them more often. Not only do we use Java, but we have gone one step further and developed a productivity tool that enables us to create Java web sites in half the time. This tool enables us to offer very competitive costs and timescales and to be more flexible and adaptable when last minute changes and enhancements are required by the customer."
Electrum specializes in the development of interactive software for multimedia and web applications.
