Software House to Market Financial Software Internationally
EDINBURGH - January 5th, 2001

Edinburgh based Electrum (Multimedia) Ltd has developed a new software tool for the financial services market that it believes will generate six, possibly seven, figure revenues and the company is now actively looking for a partner to market the product internationally.

The Factsheet Generator is currently being used by Templeton Investment Management, part of the Franklin Templeton Group, which has over $200bn under management, and its success has Electrum believing that the product will sell well throughout the world. Electrum retains the rights to the software.

'We are essentially an Internet software development company so we need a partner experienced at handling products internationally to help us realise the full financial potential of the Factsheet Generator,' explained Stuart Harper, MD.

The Generator enables Templeton to produce more than 1800 monthly fact sheets about 36 funds in 10 different languages for 12 European countries within minutes whereas it used to take the company 40 man days every month. 'It saves Templeton £5,000 a month, with that figure growing as it finds more and more uses for the Generator,' explained Harper.

Another benefit of the Generator is that it can be used to generate personalised investment quotations, deliverable over the Internet and Templeton is using it this way. 'Companies are looking for cost effective ways of making products such as stakeholder pensions available to IFA's and the Generator addresses this requirement,' said Harper.

'Given the pressures on financial organisations to generate information quickly, accurately and cheaply we see a huge market for the Factsheet Generator and we are actively reviewing companies that will enable us to exploit that potential,' said Harper.
