Electrum announces availability of PowerMapper 1.0
EDINBURGH - May 1, 1997

A new product from Electrum Multimedia in Edinburgh, Scotland, promises to take the web by storm.

PowerMapper 1.0 is a powerful and sophisticated tool for automatically exploring web sites and creating maps to provide easy access to them.

PowerMapper follows and analyses the links on a web site to create a simple visual structure or map of the site. Each map is standard HTML which can be uploaded to the site and viewed in any browser.

The tool is targeted at Internet authors and administrators who develop and maintain large and frequently changing web sites. The tool enables web authors and users to create graphical maps of their web sites that can be used for fast and accurate web site visualization, analysis and access.

Mark Rogers, the product's designer, says: "Many web administrators find if difficult to organize and control a complex intranet web site, where contributions come from several - sometimes all - parts of the organization. PowerMapper provides the web administrator with a powerful tool for automatically creating a map of the web site that helps web users navigate and webmasters manage."

PowerMapper is available for Windows 95 and NT and sells for $99. A free evaluation version is available from Electrum's web site at http://www.electrum.co.uk/.

Electrum also develop HotSpotter, an innovative tool for creating Java applets and interactive images that require no programming or scripting.
