The Executive Team
Stuart Harper is managing director of Electrum and one of its three founders along with Mark Rogers and Gary McGill.
Stuart first came to prominence as a founder of a Scottish IT success story, Panasonic OWL. Office Workstations Limited (OWL) established itself as a leading software developer with Guide, the first successful hypertext product for the PC and Mac. The company grew from a five-man start-up to a group with sales and marketing subsidiaries in the UK and USA, a staff of 90 and a turnover of £3.5M.
As MD of OWL after its sale to Panasonic, Stuart established the company as the European Multimedia R&D Centre for Panasonic. During this time OWL's reputation for innovative R&D was achieved by developing authoring and delivery systems for DVD, electronic magazines and catalogues, and digital TV.
Stuart has 30 years experience of software development and company management, most recently in the area of the Internet and multimedia. He was instrumental in the formation, and is past Chairman, of the Interactive Media Alliance Scotland (now merged with ScotlandIS).
Mark Rogers is a co-founder, director and software engineer at Electrum. He has over 20 years of leading-edge software development experience on Windows, Linux and Macintosh and extensive experience in high volume data environments.
Gary McGill has over 19 years experience of designing and implementing various tools and applications for document publishing. He too is a co-founder, director and software engineer at Electrum.
